It was
wonderful to wake up in VEGAS! The MGM
Grand was a gorgeous place to stay. I would highly recommend
it. We were in a Grand Tower room. Just be sure to
bring comfortable shoes because this place is HUGE and you will do a lot
of walking. We got up on Thursday and had breakfast at the Studio
Cafe then we toured around the MGM. We decided to check out the
strip. The New
York, New York is across the street from the MGM. I think
next time I go to Vegas I want to stay there. We looked through it
and then walked up to the Luxor
to buy tickets to the Blue Man Group.
Our walk turned into a hike by the time we were done :) We walked back down the strip and got as far as the Monte Carlo before we crossed over and headed back. (MAP OF STRIP) I was beat by the time we reached the MGM so we decided to do something that just required sitting. There is something called Television City in the MGM where you can give your opinion on a new TV pilot. It was fun and they give you coupons for their store (Yippee a discount on my Survivor T-shirt!). We had dinner at the MGM Grand Buffet which was excellent. But I made Duane hurry a little because I wanted to get back to the room by 8pm to watch Survivor! Hey, that was the only TV we watched the whole time we were there. We topped the night off with a bit of gambling in our casino and across at the NY, NY. I think it was around 1:30pm when we hit the sack. |

This was our room at the MGM. I know Sophia Loren was on the wall but I didn't recognize any of the other stars (and there was no Marilyn in our room).

This was the view of the MGM from over at the NY, NY. In the second pic we are on top of the escalator heading towards the Excalibar.

This is a shot
outside the Luxor, if you look just in front of the Sphinx you can see
the free Tram that runs between Excalibur-Luxor and Mandalay Bay.

This is just inside the entrance of the Luxor.

This
was where we crossed over from the Monte Carlo at the Harley Cafe.

Just
down from the MGM was a 4 story M&M store. It was unbelievable.
